In Middle School there are several projects assigned. They are worked on mainly during guidance class and sometimes the students are given time in Technology to do their research. The project is graded, the grade is given in a core subject such as Science or Social Studies.
Here is the breakdown of GRADED Guidance Assignments this year. For the most part, they are assigned each year.
2013 6th and 8th graders received a grade in Language Arts in the second marking period for their Kindness Stories.
SIXTH GRADE CAREER FAIR
Career Project Requirements Objective: 6TH grade students will research a potential career of interest and produce a graphic and an oral presentation of the information.
Specifics: Students will work individually to develop a presentation on a specific career. They will present their information during a “Career Day Fair” where the students in elementary grades will hear their presentations and ask questions in a one-on-one setting.
That means completed backboard IN the room for guidance class that week. The following two weeks will be spent presenting your completed board & presentation to your class. If it is not complete on time your grade will suffer.
Parents are welcome to drop in and attend. NO CANDY! In years past children have brought in candy to give out to the visitiors. This creates chaos and last year’s 6th graders even said they would never do that again, so we have nixed it.
